Becca and Jonathan love the AWANA kids club. They are memorizing lots of Bible verses and learning what team work is as they compete. Becca also is learning about missionaries, the environment and helping others.
I help out in the technical services ministry. Mostly I work with the sound equipment. The church has a nice Mackey 32 channel 8 bus mixer. The mixer was actually designed for a recording studio but it works ok for a performance mixer. I wish I understood acoustics more but that's a lifetime career. Right now we have two major problems with our sound system, one is electrical. We get some pretty wicked ground loops going sometimes. For example a couple weeks ago I was running sound when one of the monitor loops started buzzing loudly. I brought down all of the monitors and input feeds except for the two we were using and it was still buzzing. Someone on stage unplugged the offending monitor and it shot a 6 inch spark. The other problem is the Choir mics are the wrong type of mic and too far away from the choir which makes it difficult to get a good sound from the choir.
